The Director of the Academic Planning Unit (APU), Federal Polytechnic Bida, Dr. Fashagba Paul Femi , has said efforts are in top gear for a successful outing in the forthcoming reaccreditation exercise of about 37 programmes in the institution.
Speaking after a meeting of the Mock Accreditation Committee held at the Polytechnic’s Council Chambers on Friday, Dr. Fashagba said the exercise was borne out of the desire to ascertain the level of preparedness by the affected departments.
The exercise, Dr. Fashagba further stated, “was carried out by a group of experts consisting Chief Lecturers, Directors and Deans whose sole responsibility was to confirm whether or not the resources required for the exercise have been procured.”
According to the Director, “the Committee is so far impressed with what is on ground as more than 80% of both human and non human resources required for the exercise are already in place.”
He therefore commended the Rector, Dr. Abubakar A. Dzukogi for constituting the committee, describing it as a check-and-balance mechanism which ensures probity, efficiency and transparency in the system.
Fashagba, who also commended members of the committee and others alike, added that stakeholders have already taken note of our strengths and weaknesses and it is our desire to consolidate on our strengths and address our weaknesses before the actual exercise.
