The former member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Sunday Karimi has picked the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for Kogi West Senatorial District.
Karimi defeated incumbent Senator Smart Adeyemi by 288 votes against 43 votes.
Doctor Muyiwa Aina came second after pulling 73 votes while Isah Abdulkarim got 9 votes with the only female contestant got 1 vote.
The Returning Officer, Bashir Gegu described the election as peaceful and transparent.
