Construction and Rehabilitation of Roads in 8 LGs: KOGROMA Set To Move To Site, Promises To Adopt Best Standard

All is now set for the commencement of work on the construction and rehabilitation of roads in eight Local Government Areas of Kogi State.

 

Recall that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo had recently approved first phase of reconstruction and construction of roads in Yagba West, Mopa-Amuro, Ijumu, Bassa, Omala, Dekina, Idah and Lokoja Local Government Areas following the total overhaul of equipment of the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency (KOGROMA).

In ensuring a hitch-free Project, the Managing Director of KOGROMA,  Dr. Yunusa Alhassan, and his management team have visited the respective Local Government Areas to solicit cooperation and support of relevant stakeholders including traditional rulers for the Project to succeed.

 

Speaking at the Palace of Elegbe of Egbe, Oba Ayodele Irukera, the Managing Director thanked Gov. Ododo for the confidence reposed in the Agency and for finding it worthy to execute such projects and promised to do everything possible not to disappoint the trust.

 

Dr. Alhassan, who was accompanied by the Director Civil, Engineer Bolaji Steven and the Director Mechanical Engineer Ocheni, said in line with the directive of Governor Ododo to engage locals as a way of creating employment, the Agency is ready to carry youths along in the projects.

 

He solicited the support of the Traditional Rulers and Chairmen, Transition Committee to enable the Agency to complete the job in record time.

 

According to him, the projects are in line with the directive of the Governor to make all roads across the State Motorable, pointing out that the jobs will be done in line with the best standard.

He stated that having concluded the necessary assessment, the Workers are ready to move to sites any moment from now, saying upon completion of the first phase, the second phase will commence.

 

On their part, the Director Civil, Engineer Bolaji Steven and the Director Mechanical Engineer Ocheni said their Departments are ready to face the task ahead as Government has played it’s part.

 

Responding, the Elegbe of Egbe, HRM. Oba Ayodele Irukera expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for remembering Egbe people in the first few months of his administration, describing it as a demonstration that he meant well for the people of the State.

 

Oba Irukera, who described Egbe as a peaceful Community, promised to provide the needed support for the Agency to carry out their assignment.
