The Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KSIRS) on Friday sealed off the Lokoja Branch of Polaris Bank over tax evasion.

The development has brought untold hardship to the customers of the bank as some of them who came to the bank were unable to make transaction thereby left stranded.

In an interview with a customer of Polaris Bank, Emmanuel Matthew, he lamented that the development has caused a lot of havoc to customers and described it as unfortunate.

Matthew stated that the KGIRS should not have sealed off the bank today being Friday which ends working days of this week, noting that today is critical as customers will have to use it to prepare for the weekend.

“This is very disappointing. It’s not even good at all. They are not suppose to seal off the bank today because today marks the end of the week. Had it been they sealed off the bank on Tuesday or middle of the week, it would have been better, at least, before the weeks runs out, the bank would have been able to do the needful”.

According to him, “today, different people from different places came to the bank hoping to make transactions with the bank but were unable. I feel so disappointed”, he added.
