The Gbede Traditional Council and Gbede Development Union have described the demise of the father of the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh sani Ododo, who passed away on Monday at the age of 83 as painful and a colossal loss.
The Olugbede of Gbede, Oba Colonel Olusegun Oloruntoba (rtd) and GDU National President, Chief Israel Oshafunmi in a condolence message sympathised with the Governor, his family, people of Kogi Central and the entire State on the loss.
They noted that the death of Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo has created a vacuum in the family that will be too difficult to fill, saying he knows what it takes to lose a beloved one.
The Gbede Leaders described the Late father of the Governor as an Elder Statesman and an Icon, who produced the Chief Servant, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo who is consolidating well on the achievements of his Predecessor.
On behalf of the entire Gbede Kingdom, we commiserate with our people orientated Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo over the demise of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo.
This is a great loss to Kogi State and Nigeria as Late Alh. Momoh Sani Ododo gave Kogi State a detribalised Leader that has reduced the hardship of the people of the State.
They prayed Allah to grant the Governor and his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and the deceased eternal rest in paradise.
