The Elulu of Mopa and Chairman, Mopamuro Local Government Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun has been nominated for this year’s Award of Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The Award will be presented to the Mopamuro Paramount Ruler at the Grand Finale of the 2025 Press Week of the Council in Lokoja with the Theme: “Kogi State’ s Solid Minerals: How Media Can Drive Development.”

In a letter of Nomination jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Alhaji Ademu Seidu and Secretary, Comr. Olusegun Oyenibi, the honour is in recognition of his outstanding performance and leadership quality displayed since Oba Ibeun ascended the throne of his ancestors.
The Statement reads “The Kogi State Council, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has nominated you for an award of Excellence.”
“The award is in recognition of your outstanding leadership since your assumption office as the Elulu of Mopa land.
“The nomination also followed the giant strides witnessed under your leadership in the areas of infrastructure development and in providing quality inclusive leadership.
It also states that “Furthermore, the award is in recognition of your invaluable contributions to Mopa and Mopamuro, particularly, in your efforts aimed at improving the well-being of your subjects and sustaining peace.”
The program is scheduled to hold at the EdgeDrive Hotel Lokoja, 25th September 2025 at 10:00am.
The statement maintained that His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, Kogi State Executive Governor, would serve as the Special Guest of Honour while His Royal Majesty, the Ohimegye Igu Kingdom, Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu would serve as the Royal father of the day.
