At a time when Nigeria needs exemplary leaders, Dr. Aliyu Badaki, a seasoned tourism expert with over 30 years of experience, is vying for the position of National President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN).
Dr. Badaki’s credentials are impressive. With a distinguished career spanning hotel operations, business development, workforce training, and strategic leadership, he has transformed multiple hotel properties nationwide through his company, Blissy Hospitality Services Ltd.
His expertise has brought about remarkable operational turnarounds and revenue growth in top Rank Hotels such as, Bolton White Hotels, Newcastle Hotels, Edgedrive Hotels, Naerls Suites and Conference Center, Kapital Klub and Apartment and many more.
A seasoned professional, Dr. Badaki has held various leadership positions, including Chairman of the FCT chapter of HATMAN, National President of HATMAN, and currently, Board of Trustees Chairman of HATMAN.
He is also the current 1st Deputy President of FTAN.

Dr. Badaki’s commitment to academia and professional mentoring is evident in his roles as an external examiner to several polytechnics and lecturer/trainer at institutions like Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and Afe Babalola University. His passion for community service has led him to empower youth and enhance local development in his hometown, Iyara, Ijumu, Kogi State.
The FTAN election, scheduled for July 31, 2025, in Abuja, promises to be a significant event, with stakeholders from the tourism industry gathering to discuss the theme “Tourism Policy, Implementation, Promotion, and Governance: The Stake of the Private Sector.”
Dr. Badaki’s vision aligns with the meeting’s theme, and his leadership qualities make him an ideal candidate for the position of National President of FTAN.
With his proven track record, Dr. Badaki is well-positioned to lead FTAN and drive the growth and development of Nigeria’s tourism sector.
