Gov. Bello Lauds Quality Execution of Kogi NEWMAP Projects

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has lauded the quality execution of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP).

 

this is just as the Governor told the Commissioner of Environment, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye and the NEWMAP State Project Coordinator that he was proud of their qualitative contributions of the duo to the success story of his New Direction Administration.

 

Gov. Bello made the remark at the inspection of erosion control projects executed by NEWMAP at Ogane-aji which has led to the lost of over 20 lives and property worth millions of Naira.

 

He stated that the projects were done in accordance to specification as well as in line with international standard as well as the “GYB Standard.”

 

Speaking with Newsmen immediately after the inspection, the NEWMAP Project Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto noted that the job was done with passion with the full support of the State Government which paid the counterpart fund to secure the money for the project.

I just want to say that it’s a job that was with passion especially having a State Governor that is so much interested in giving back to the people and reversing the effect of land degradation. So he was able to pay a lot of counterpart funding to make sure that the job was done as and when due. 

According to her, only a Governor that has the love of his people at heart will key into the NEWMAP Projects which has already given the State recognition at the national level as one of the states with highest performance.
