Kogi State State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on Wednesday launched the annual Media Report of his administration with an assurance to sustain open and responsive governance.
The Launch of the annual Media Report, an initiative of the office of the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, shows the Media engagement of the programmes and policies of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo from January 2024 to January 2025.

Speaking in a message to the ceremony, Governor Ododo said the report is a reflection of his administration’s commitment to good governance, transparency and accountability.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, the Governor noted that the report which provides valuable insights into how Government messages get to the Public.
“The Launch of this report signals a new era of communication in our administration, one that emphasizes the importance of keeping records and preserving information about how we keep our citizens well-informed and actively engaged in the process of governance.
According to him, the report will refine and enhance the Communication strategies of his administration, expressing appreciation to Media for keeping the public informed professionally on the activities of government.
He restated the resolve of his administration to do more for the people of the State in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda and solicited more support from the Media.
“As we look to the future, the insights derived from this report will help us refine and enhance our communication strategies. It will guide us in continuously improving how we engage with the people, ensuring that our messages are clear, impactful and aligned with our goals of open, transparent and accountable governance.
Also Speaking, the Commissioner of Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Ebenezer Adorodija commended the Governor for engaging experienced Media Managers.
Earlier, the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Mallam Ismaila Isah stated that the unveiling is a landmark achievement, making the State to become the first in the country to provide such document which is in line with the commitment of the Governor to Transparency and accountability.
According to Mallam Ismaila, the provision of the annual report is a result of the power of collaboration, pointing out that it provides insight into the perception of the Public on the programmes and policies of government.
According to him, “I have also been privileged to benefit immensely from the invaluable partnership and support of our colleagues in the Media, there are unsung heroes who amplify our messages to the people and hold us to account at the same time.”
He assured of better days ahead for the Media, expressing appreciation to them for their unwavering support to projecting the programmes and activities of government.
The Special Adviser thanked Governor Ododo for the confidence reposed in him and the express approval for the present accommodation for the Government House Media Centre with State of the art Media
In their separate remarks, Publisher of Nigerian Post, Mike Abuh, Chairperson of Kogi NGO Network, Ambassador Idris Ozovehe and Vice President Zone D, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Alh. Adeiza Momoh Jimoh commended the initiative behind the report.
