Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has paid a condolence visit to the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of the Okun Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, following the passing of his wife, Her Royal Highness, Queen Marie Ige Owoniyi.

Governor Ododo, who was represented by his Deputy, Joel Oyibo Salifu, described the loss as a painful departure at a time when her presence was most needed noted the transient nature of life, drawing from biblical teachings, and prayed for the Queen’s peaceful repose.

The Governor acknowledged the late Queen’s invaluable role as a mother figure to the Okun people and the state at large.

He assured the Obaro of Kabba of the government’s solidarity in this moment of grief and called on well wishers to rally around the monarch for support.

In his remarks, the Elulu of Mopa and Chairman of the Mopa Area Traditional Council, His Royal Highness Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, appreciated the Governor’s swift response and visit, which he described as a testament to the administration’s commitment to traditional institutions.
