A senior aide to the Kogi State Governor on grassroot mobilization, Hon. Amodu Abubakar, has hailed Hon. Funsho Olumoko as a strategic mobilizer and indispensable political force in Ijumu Local Government Area and Kogi State at large.
Abubakar, while speaking on the evolving political landscape of the state, described Hon. Olumoko as “a pillar of grassroots politics whose influence continues to shape electoral victories, governance stability, and community development across Kogi.”
According to him, “Hon. Funsho Olumoko remains a strategic mobilizer and a critical factor in Ijumu politics and the entire Kogi political architecture. His capacity to unite people, build consensus, and deliver results sets him apart.”

Abubakar noted that Olumoko’s strength lies not only in his political experience but also in his rich academic background. He earned a Higher National Diploma in Marketing from Kwara State Polytechnic and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Bayero University Kano, Masters in political Economy,

Currently pursuing a PhD in Elections and Party Politics at Federal University Lokoja, Olumoko’s academic depth, Abubakar said, has sharpened his strategic thinking and governance insight.
“He is not just a politician; he is a thinker and a builder of systems,” the governor’s aide added.
*A Proven Grassroots Mobilizer*
Hon. Olumoko’s political trajectory, Abubakar emphasized, reflects consistency and impact. From serving as Caretaker Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area in 2007, Liaison Officer 1 in 2012, He was SSA on conflicts Resolution and management under Governor Idris Ibrahim after his Caretakership. Steadily, he has built a strong grassroots network anchored on trust and performance.
His defining moment, however, came in 2023 when he served as Director-General of the APC Governorship Campaign Council in Kogi West, playing a pivotal role in the emergence of Ahmed Usman Ododo as governor.
“His mobilization strength and strategic coordination significantly contributed to the victory. Without mincing words, Hon. Olumoko was one of the pillars of that success,” Abubakar stated.
Governor Ododo himself had earlier described Olumoko as a “God-given treasure,” underscoring the high esteem in which he is held within the state’s leadership circle.
*Champion of Education and Youth Empowerment*
Beyond politics, Abubakar highlighted Olumoko’s transformational leadership in education.
As Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education Pankshin, he contributed to the institution’s growth and its upgrade to a full-fledged university.
Through the Ogidi-Omo Movement, he has disbursed over ₦316 million in bursary scholarships to 8,750 students, with Law students receiving ₦300,000 each. He has also empowered over 100 youths with financial grants ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000, while supporting infrastructure projects such as the donation of a 10kva generator to Ekinrin Adde community in 2005.
“These are not campaign promises; they are visible, measurable interventions,” Abubakar remarked.

In recognition of his contributions, Hon. Olumoko was inducted into the Ekinrin-Adde Omo-Atata Hall of Fame in 2024 and received the “Most Impactful Politician of the Year 2025” award.
Abubakar stressed that such accolades reflect a life devoted to service and people-centered leadership.

Describing him as “a unifier and bridge-builder,” the governor’s aide maintained that Olumoko’s influence transcends Ijumu, positioning him as a decisive political factor in Kogi State.
