The National Mathematical Centre Staff Cooperative Thrift and Credit Society Ltd has called on the Secretary, Ijumu Local Government Council, Hon. Ibikunle Alex Ropo, to refund over 21million Naira he allegedly transferred to his personal account and that of non-members of the body.

The Abuja-based cooperative society caters for the welfare of National Mathematical Centre staff.

According to a member of the cooperative society who spoke with our reporter, Ibikunle abused his office while he held sway in the thrift.

The member, who craved anonymity, said several letters have been sent to Ibikunle after through account reconciliation and investigations. He confirmed that no less than three letters have been sent to Ibikunle to come out clean and notify the cooperative society of his plans to refund the monies he dubiously transferred to himself and cronies.

The letter signed by the acting President, Shehu Jibrin and secretary, Darius Alhassan said: “We further re-instate that as at date hereof, you have not deemed it necessary to partly reduce your indebtedness or avail us with the repayment plans of your intention to offset the above sum.
