The Pro – Chancellor and Chairman Board of Governing Council, Federal University of Education, Pankshin, and founder, Ogidi- Omo Movement, Hon. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko says the time has come to think outside the box to tackle rising cases of insecurity.
Hon. Olumoko stated this while speaking with Newsmen on the sideline of the 2025 Ijumu Cultural Festival at Iyara, headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area.

In his words, “If our people will come together, provide credible intelligence to support Security Agencies, a lot of these crimes will reduce.
“Also, the Government should wake up to it’s responsibilities. One of the cardinal points for any responsible government is to protect lives and property. The government cannot do it alone, so as a people, we must now begin to come together.
He cautioned the people of Okun land against aiding criminal activities as the next victim might be someone close to them.
Hon. Olumoko, emphasized that the festival is not just a mere event, but a celebration of identity, diversity, and the spirit that binds the Ijumu people together as a community.
In his address, Hon. Funsho Olumoko highlighted the significance of culture as the heartbeat of society, existing in various forms such as languages, music, traditions, and expressions. He expressed his pleasure in witnessing the performances, exhibitions, and creative expressions of the festival, stating that culture is not only inherited but also created, nurtured, and passed on with pride.
The Director General commended the efforts of the organizing committees, the Ijumu Development Union, the royal fathers, volunteers, participants, and everyone involved in making the event a success. He acknowledged the courage and dedication of each performer who showcased their talents on stage, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, leadership, and discipline in working towards a common vision.
Hon. Funsho Olumoko urged the audience to celebrate not only the art on stage but also the spirit of togetherness that defines the community.
