IUG Postpones National Congress

The Ijumu Unity Group, a Political Pressure Group has announced the postponement of its National Congress earlier scheduled for October 1st, 2022.

A Statement by Chairman of the Group, Hon Funsho Olumoko said the postponement was as a result of the last Sunday arson of a Church along Iyara-Kabba road.

The statement reads “This is to inform our esteemed members and the public that the IUG National Congress slated for Saturday October 1, 2022 has been postponed.”

 

“The recent havock caused by unidentified arsonists at a church in the headquarters of our Local Government Area-Iyara is fundamentally responsible for the postponement. IUG, known as lovers of Ijumu citizens cannot said to be happy and celebrating at a time of need for sober reflection.”

“While calling on the security agencies to quickly investigate this heinous crime, the leadership of the group is to set up a high powered delegation to visit Iyara community, Olujumu of Ijumu, the Council Chairman to sympathize with them over the unfortunate incidence.”

“While the leadership of IUG is working hard on a new date for the National Congress to be announced shortly, it regrets the inconveniences this sudden change might caused our members and of course all our invited dignitaries”
