I’ve Taken The Responsibility of Uniting Ijumu Sons And Daughters – Alh. Haruna

The Transition Chairman Ijumu Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna has officially taken over the administration of the Council with a pledge to reunite ijumu people.

The Chairman made the pledge during the welcome ceremony organized for him at pa Oguntebi memorial hall of the secretariat Iyara on the 12th January,2024.

Alhaji Haruna disclosed that his coming to head the Local Government is to revive the economy and to make sure that the Area is safe from all forms of insecurities.

The Chairman, who had visited the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni and his traditional council members at his palace for their blessings, said he is aware of the challenges on ground, calling for support and cooperation to face it headlong.

Alh. Haruna maintained that he had also met with the security operatives to seek for their cooperation, pointing out that he has received adequate briefings of the State of Security in the Local Government.

He solicited the cooperation of the management and workers of the council, pointing out that his administration will welcome genuine advice from all stakeholders to jointly move the Area.

The Transition Chairman thanked the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for giving him the privilege as he promised not to disappoint him and the entire leaders that facilitated his appointment.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Head of Ijumu Local Government Administration, Mr. Joseph Oluwafemi Asaju felicitated with the Chairman and assured him of the readiness of the management and workers of the council to support him.

The HLGA advised him to be careful with the sycophants who are only out for their selfish interest.

In their separate remarks, former commissioner of Environment in Kogi state, Honourable Victor Omofaiye, High chief APS Arogundade and the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Dare, advised the chairman to a good listener and ready to examine properly series of advice receive before acting on them.

They equally advised the Council Boss to avoid sentiment and do everything humanly possible to restore the lost glory of Ijumu LGA.
