Just In: APC Harvest More PDP Supporters in Kogi

It was another harvest for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State as hundreds of supporters of the main opposition Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) decamped to the ruling party in Iffe/Ikoyi ward, Ijumu Local Government Area.

 

This is coming few weeks after a Chieftain of PDP, Engr. John Olorunjuwon Ibishagba and his teaming supporters dumped the party for APC.

 

One of the Decampees is a former Vice Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Segun Ojo, who attributed his defection to the APC was due to the outstanding leadership qualities of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the need to join forces to enable him achieve his dreams and aspirations for Kogi State.

 

Hon. Ojo, a one-time Special Adviser to the Governor on Records Management, said he is proud of the present look of Lokoja, the State Capital which according to him is now wearing a new look of a befitting State Capital.

He promised that his coming is to give his unalloyed loyalty and support to the Party as well as add value.

 

The member representing Ijumu Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Princess Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya stated that she was happy to receive the new Entrants to the ruling party.

 

She expressed optimism of victory in subsequent elections in the Ward, assuring the Decampees that they will not regret their decisions.

 

Princess Adeleye Ishaya, who expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Governor, saying he is ready and committed to the cause of development of the State.

 

The State Lawmaker thanked the people of the Ward and Ijumu for the confidence reposed in her with their support during her election, promising that she will not disappoint them.

 

The APC Ward Chairman, Hon. Samuel Ojumoro welcomed the new members and assured them of equal treatment in line with the party’s belief.

 

The Campaign ceremony was witnessed by the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf, who assured of more infrastructural projects under the present administration in the State.
