Kabba Explosion is disheartening and barbaric – Kogi Speaker

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole has commiserated with the victims of the Wednesday night explosion in Kabba metropolis that claimed lives and destroyed properties, and charged the security agencies to investigate to unravel the remote cause of the explosion.

Kolawole in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Femi Olugbemi, described the incident as disheartening and barbaric for anyone under any guise to embark on such callous act to cut short the lives of people with prime future, hence heighten the security situation of the area.

He urged residents of the community to be calm as the agencies charged with the responsibility have been given matching orders to increase their surveillance and patrol to forestall future occurrence.

He commiserated with the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, HRM Oba Solomon Owoniyi and families of the victims, and prayed that such evil will not be the portion of our community again.

He urged the people to continue to cooperate and support the security agencies in order to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous act.

The Speaker has since visited the scene and the family of the victims.
