Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe has commissioned the new headquarters of Neat Microcredit with words of commendation for the Company for giving women access to funding to run and expand their businesses in Kaduna State.
The Deputy Governor who spoke through the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barrister James Kanyip at the inauguration of the new Headquarters of NEAT in Kaduna, noted that the bank has truly been a beacon of hope and empowerment in Kaduna, contributing significantly to the state’s economic growth.
She lauded NEAT for the the commitment to nurturing local businesses and said this “aligns perfectly with the development agenda set forth by our Governor, Senator Uba Sani.
“Let me state that what sets NEAT Microcredit apart is its unwavering dedication to promoting women’s empowerment and financial inclusion.
“With over 80% of your beneficiaries being women, you have played a pivotal role in supporting the dreams and aspirations of our enterprising women. By providing credit services to over 30,000 small businesses in Kaduna State and beyond, NEAT Microcredit has given these women a chance to thrive and succeed.
“Financial inclusion is not just a buzzword; it is a fundamental aspect of fostering sustainable development. When women are given equal access to financial resources, the entire community benefits. NEAT Microcredit has recognized this fact and has been a driving force in creating opportunities for women to break barriers and achieve economic independence.
“The impressive strides You have made in the past six years are a testament to your unwavering commitment to the socio-economic development of Kaduna State. Through your efforts, countless lives have been transformed, families have been uplifted, and communities have prospered. The Chief Executive Officer of NEAT, Omoniyi Salami commended Kaduna State Government for creating a good environment for businesses to thrive.
He thanked the Deputy Governor for gracing the occasion saying that sending a representation to the event demonstrates the kind of support given to businesses in the state.
Salami explained that NEAT was established to provide funding to women running small businesses who don’t have access to funding from commercial banks noting that so far, the bank has advanced low-interest rate loans to over 30,000 customers 80% of which are women.
