Kano Governor Inaugurates Committee on Implementation of N70,000 New Minimum Wage

Following the approval of a new national minimum wage by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has inaugurated an Advisory Committee on the New National Minimum Wage, to plan the implementation of the new N70,000 minimum wage, as agreed with the organized Labour.

 

Represented by his the Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the Governor emphasized the committee’s responsibility to plan effectively for the newly approved minimum wage and to present a practical recommendation for the state government’s immediate implementation.

 

In his words, “I assure all workers that the implementation of the new minimum wage would increase the development of Kano State across all sectors, as the welfare of workers is an important priority of our government.

 

“The committee has also been tasked with delivering its task within three weeks, and it will be headed by Alh. Usman Bala Muhammad, Special Adviser to the Governor on State Affairs, and a former Head of the Kano State Civil Service.

 

Other members of the committee include: Alh. Abdullahi Musa, Head of the Civil Service, Alh. Ibrahim Jibril Fagge, Commissioner of Finance, Alh. Musa Suleman Shanono, Commissioner of Planning and Budget, Baba Halilu Dantiye, Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Baffa Sani Gaya, Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu, Salahudeen Habib Isa and Ibrahim I. Boyi.

 

The rest are ;Ibrahim Muhammad Kabara, Mustapha Nuraddeen Muhammad, Abdulkadir Abdussalam, Umar Muhammad Jalo, Hassan Salisu Kofar Mata and Yahaya Umar
