A Socio-Cultural Group, Gbede Development Union has lauded Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello for approving the rehabilitation of Odokoro Gbede-Iyara and Okoro-Ayeh Gbede-Ayegunle Roads.
Gov. Bello had directed the immediate rehabilitation of the roads during the wedding ceremony of the son of the State ALGON Chairman, Alh. Taofiq Isa held at Aiyetoro Gbede last week.
But the Gbede Development Union while reacting to the directive in a statement described the move as a welcome development and long overdue cheering news.
The Union in a statement by its President, Chief Israel Oshafunmi, and Secretary Elder Ohunonese said the plan by the State Government to revisit the roads is a step in the right direction.
The Statement pointed out that Gov. Bello is the first Governor to pronounce the rehabilitation of the Okoro-Gbede-Ayeh-Aiyegunle road, which has suffered neglect by past administrations.
It further states that “the people of Gbede Kingdom will forever be grateful to the Governor if the roads can be done before the end of his administration. Therefore, the name Yahaya Bello will forever be in the hearts of Gbede sons and daughters upon completion of the said roads and we will be glad to see this come to reality in our time.”
We salute our Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello for his love and passion for the Gbede people and we will reciprocate this gesture with our unalloyed loyalty and support. We also pray that God will continue to bless our Governor with wisdom and good health to move Kogi State to enviable heights.
