Kogi Community Set to Honour Chief. S O Faleke-Arotile with Distinguished Community Service Award

The Leadership of Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) has concluded plans to confer an award of Distinguished Community Service to the former Chairman of EACDA Lagos branch and The Elegunja of Ekinrin Adde, Chief. S O Faleke Arotile.

This was made known through the Publicity Secretary of Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association, Mr. Victor Adewale Adekanye.

According to Mr. Adekanye, the award is a recognition of Chief Elegunja’s outstanding roles in the development of the community.

Chief. S O Faleke Arotile, according to the statement, will receive the award on the 24th of June, at the EACDA awards night in Ekinrin Adde day.

Chief. S O Faleke was born on the 9th December 1953 to the Olu Arotile Royal Family of Aofin Abudo, Ekinrin-Adde.

He holds a B.Ed (Hons) degree in Education and (Guidance & Counselling) of the University of Ibadan (1984) and also NCE of Kwara College of Educ. Ilorin (1980). He attended St. Barnabas’ Secondary School, Kabba and graduated in 1975.

As a renowned educationist, he worked in many post primary institutions including Comprehensive High School, Panyan, Kogi State (Sep.1984 –Aug 1986) and St. Barnabas’ Sec. School, Kabba.

He relocated to Lagos State in 1989 to join Atlantic Hall Private Secondary School, Poka Epe, and worked as a full-time Guidance Counsellor & Head of Unit until 2010 when he retired from the school.

Chief. S O Faleke-Arotile’s commitment to the service of Ekinrin-Adde is unparalleled. He has served in various capacities.

He was a Member Planning Committee of Ekìnrìn-Àddé Day Celebrations between 2010 – 2014. Secretary PDP Ekinrin-Adde Ward 2012 – 2015.

He was the National President of Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association 2006 to 2007. Also a National Secretary-General of the same union from 2004 to 2005

In 2004, Chief. Arotile became Chairman of EACDA, Lagos branch. He was a three times Secretary Gen Ekinrin-Adde Students’ Union between 1976, 1980, and 1983.

He is happily married (with wonderful children) to Ọmọe Magba Mrs. Olufunmilayo Faleke-Arotile (nee Ọlọrundami Alaga).
