Kogi Community Thanks Senator Adeyemi for Facilitating Road Construction

The National President of Iyara Development Association (IDA), Alh. Aliyu Badaki has sent a strong worded appreciation to Senator Smart Adeyemi, the Senator representing Kogi West for facilitating construction and rehabilitation of roads in the Community.

Alh. Aliyu while speaking at the Mid-year Conference of the Community held at Iyara, the headquarters of Ijumu Local Government, commended the Federal Lawmaker for using the road network to give the community a facelift.

In his words “Iyara is becoming more beautiful due to the recent road construction that is ongoing. Our appreciation goes to the Distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi for facilitating the construction of the internal roads, drainages and the Federal Road passing through Iyara town.

He said the Senator has also assured that work will soon commence on the other roads in the community.

On security, the IDA President described as disturbing the menace of Fulani herdsmen terrorizing farmers, saying issues of kidnapping and bombing are now getting closer to the community.

According to him, while efforts of stakeholders of the community towards nipping insecurity in the bud are worthy of commendation, more is needed to be done in the area of funding and cooperation.

He noted that the 2021 Iyara Day celebration which was geared towards development of education has yielded dividends as the Association has embarked on building a state of the art Administrative Block for the Community Secondary School and appealed to well to do individuals and corporate bodies to come to the aide of Iyara schools.

Alh. Aliyu stated that in a bid to improve electricity to the Community, four Transformers were recently repaired, pointing out that issues of power failure would soon become a thing of the past.

He advised the people to conduct themselves in orderly manner in the forthcoming general elections, urging those who are yet to get their PVCs to do so to enable them exercise their franchise.
