Kogi Culture: Egbeda Egga Day Holds September 2nd 2023

The people of Egbeda-Egga, Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi State, will on Saturday, 2nd September, 2023 roll out the drums to celebrate their cultural heritage, as well as raise funds for community development projects.

According to a statement by the National Public Relations Officer Egbeda Egga Development Union, Korede Omolayo, the event will not only attract sons and daughters of the community but also friends of the community from all walks of life.

“The event is also aimed at showcasing the rich culture of Egbeda-Egga; as its special features include displays of: Egun Olomo (Bereke); Ede (pokiri pelebe); Igbafun (traditional wedding display); Sakara; Kokomo and Ogbele among others.

“Indeed, Egga Day Celebration 2023 promises to be a potpourri of culture, music and dance.

“Apart from the regular media coverage, there will be live streaming of the event on social media through the community’s channels on Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram.
