Kogi Decides: Group Lobby For Kogi West Governor

A Socio-political group, Kogi Equity Roundtable (KER) has called on members of the Kogi Traditional Council, to put heads together at ensuring the institutionalization of rotation, in Kogi polity.

 

In a statement signed by its Director General, of the group: Pastor Stanley Ajileye (Director General), Dr. Onaji Frank (Secretary) and Alh. Suleiman Ganiyu Ozi Odugba, (Publicity Secretary), the group requested the council of traditional rulers in the state, to support the agitation for power rotation which KER spare-headed, since its formation in 2014.

 

According to the statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja, the state’s capital, politics is a volatile adventure, and d deliberate injection of a structure of internal democracy, is a necessity, for fairness, and in a bid to ameliorating acrimony.

 

The statement stessed further that, traditional fathers, are in vantage position, by the stool they occupy, to spare head the lobby for power rotation.

 

Kogi Equity Roundtable, whose membership cuts across the three senatorial district of the state says, in the spirit of fairness, the governorship seat should deliberately rotate to the Western Senatorial District of the State after the successful completion of the second term of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello , who is from Kogi Central.

 

“God has been magnanimous to Kogi East, He made them govern the state for 17 unbroken years; and to central who is completing its second term, it will be fair to willfully allow governorso rotate to Kogi West for the sake of posterity” the statement emphasized.

 

Kogi Equity Roundtable further admonished the traditional fathers, to send a delegate of prominent members of its council, to his Excellency Governor of Kogi State, to present this position of KER.; just as it proposes a meeting with all aspirants from Kogi West to be selfless in the pursuit of their aspirations.

 

The group hinted that, on its part, it is rolling out plans for a scheduled meeting with stakeholders from across the state.
