Ijumu Local Government Area Traditional Council has announced the passing unto glory of Kogi Monarch, Oba Micheal Kolajo Otitoju, Chairman of Ijumu-Oke Traditional Council.
According to a statement by Secretary to the Council, Mr. Jimoh Ademola, Oba Otitoju joined his ancestors on June 18th after a brief illness.
“With gratitude to God for a life well spent but with total submission to the will of the Almighty God, the Ijumu Traditional Council announces that HRH. Oba Dr. Micheal Kolajo Otitoju JP, Obaja Pajabu III,
the Chairman, Ijumu-Oke Traditional Ruler has joined our Ancestors.
The sad incident occurred on the 18th of June 2025 after a brief illness.
Until the unfortunate demise, Oba Otitoju was the Ologale of Ogale, a stool he served meritoriously before he was appointed by the State Government as the Alaga (Chairman) Ijumu Oke.
Before his ascension to the throne as Oba, he lived in Lagos for 31 Years where he served as Pastor at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC).
He was humble, friendly, dedicated and concerned about the progress, peace and development of Ijumu-Oke, Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi State and Nigeria.
He made valuable contributions to the Ijumu Traditional Council as he lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.
While we mourn his unfortunate demise, we see this as a colossal loss not to Ogale and Ijumu-Oke alone but the entire Ijumu Traditional Council.
Oba Otitoju joined his ancestors at the age of 78 and is survived by his wife, 4 Children and 10 grandchildren.
May God console his family, Ogale Community, Ijumu-Oke, Ijumu LGA and Kogi State.
