The 2025 Kogi State NUJ Press Week is scheduled to begin on the 19th September, 2025.
In a statement signed by Alhaji Ademu Seidu, Chairman and Comr. Segun Oyenibi Secretary, the Theme for the 2025 NUJ Press Week is; “Kogi State’s Solid Minerals: How Media Can Drive Development”.
The Press Week is an annual event for all working Journalists in the State, provides platform for sober reflection as well as to reposition the Union for effective service delivery.
This year’s Press Week is scheduled to hold as from 19th September, 2025 with the Grand finale expected to hold at the Edge Drive Hotel Lokoja on the 25th September, 2025.
His Excellency, Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, Executive Governor, Kogi State, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Abubakar Gegu will serve as the Chairman for the 2025 NUJ Press Week.
The NUJ National President, Comr. Alhassan Yahya Abdul and other National and Zonal Officers of the Union are expected in Kogi State for the 2025 NUJ Press Week Grand finale.
This year’s Press Week, has lined up of activities that includes;
(1) Prayers at the Church and Mosque
(2) Sporting activities
(3) Visit to orphanages
(4) Environmental Sanitation.
(5) Grand finale
The week long program will be rounded up with the grand finale on the 25th September, 2025 with the Grand finale.
