Ahead of the Friday’s Primary Election, Delegates, party leaders and critical stakeholders from the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kabba/Bunu council area of Kogi State on Tuesday declared their resolve to vote for incumbent Senator Smart Adeyemi.
The delegates and stakeholders hinged their decision on the ground that experience is needed for productive legislative duties, hence the need for continuity in the zone.
Senator Adeyemi whose visit to the Solid Rock Hotel was to address the delegates was however surprised when he was received with warm welcome, cheers and accolades by the party stakeholders.
Speaking onbehalf of the party stakeholders, former chairman of the council, Hon. Funsho Olorunfemi Otu said Senator Adeyemi has justified his mandate despite the initial hiccups experienced on his way to the senate.
Otu stated that inspite of his late entry to the National Assembly due to rerun elections, the covid 19 debacle and other issues, the senator was able to attract dividends of democracy to the district.
The delegates said they were also proud of his commitment to duty, his comment on contemporary issues and his strong agitation for the common man.
The stakeholders said Adeyemi stands tall amongst other aspirants that have come to address them for their votes, said Adeyemi addressed them on facts.
They also stated that the senator’s love for Kabba and the council area in time past and presently has justified his endorsement from the council area.
They therefore resolved to allow for continuity rather than allow a fresh person to the Red Chamber who will not be able to make wave like Adeyemi has done, “We believe strongly that the stage at hands, is one that requires continuity that will enable us achieve great results for the zone.
“We must put all our sentiments and personal interests aside, and vote for the best person that will represent Kogi West adequately.”
Speaking early, Adeyemi said he has remained committed to his duty as a Senator.
“My job is to speak for my people and Nigerians irrespective of religion or party affiliation; and that I have done wholeheartedly.
I have not missed a day sitting, I have given 100 percent commitment to my duty, and I cannot afford to do less.
“My experience is crucial, especially for a zone like ours. This is why I decided to put myself forward to serve for another term.”
