He said APC as a party remains a formidable platform in the constituency that needs to work in unity to take the mantle of leadership of the Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, pointing out that the reign of the opposition party in the area is over.

He said the party has what it takes to deliver all it’s candidates from top to bottom in the area, hence all stakeholders need to agree to work together for the overall interest of the party, urging them to take clue from the statement of Governor Yahaya Bello who says the area tends to benefit more if stakeholders mobilize overwhelming votes for the party in the elections.

He said no one should hide behind any finger, pointing out that even if anyone works for the opposition parties, such persons cannot get any benefits as they would if it is their party that wins.

The Speaker promised to provide qualitative representation when elected, stressing that he is an experienced legislator that will attract great dividends of democracy to the constituency like never before.

In their separate remarks, Candidates of the Kogi State House of Assembly for Kabba/Bunu and Ijumu Constituencies, Hon. Seyi Bello and Hon. (Mrs) Tayo Ishaya assured the party stakeholders and indeed the electorate of their various constituency qualitative representations when elected.

In their addresses, they stated their preparedness to give their best for the success of the party in the area in all the elections, pointing out that people should maintain peace, law and order before, during and after the elections as admonished by Governor Yahaya Bello as anyone caught causing trouble will not be spared no matter how highly placed as the law will catch up with him/her.

Other speakers at the meeting said similar meetings should be regular to discuss the way forward for the party. The party was advised to adopt a reward mechanism that will encourage members who have worked hard for the success of the party at various times.

They also noted that after the party might have won all its elections, appointments to be given should be based on the wards, not a situation where some wards will have more than five appointments while some will not have one.

It was unanimously agreed that there will be no room for the oppositions in the Federal Constituency hence party members must be more prepared to win the elections considering the achievements of the APC-led government in the area, like the Kabba – Obajana road, the Kabba township, the ongoing construction of Aiyetoro – Kiri – Abugi road, Okebukun – Aiyegunle – Odo Ape electrification projects, water projects across the area, solar street lights and other numerous projects.
