Ahead of the November 11 Gubernatorial election in Kogi State, the Senator representing Kogi West, Smart Adeyemi says his Senatorial District deserve to produce the next Governor of the State.
Senator Adeyemi also said he has every credentials to become the next Governor of the State.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen at his Home town, Iyara, the 3rd term Senator said he has the experience, exposure, international connection to develop the resources of the State for the betterment of the people.
“I’m the first in the history of Kogi State to serve 3 terms as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I’m the first in the West, I’m in Kogi State. I have traveled to over 30 countries of the world, I’m exposed, I’m educated, I’m intelligent, I’m dynamic, I’m principled, I’m somebody who believes in equity fairness and justice. And I tell you that I have the credentials to perform better than any contestant.
“Kogi West Deserves to produce the candidate that will govern this State next year. By all sense of responsibility, by all considerations, by both Islamic and Biblical injunctions, in fact by the provision of the constitution Section 14 which talk about Federal Character. In essence, fairness must come to play.
“How did Asiwaju Bola Tinubu got the Presidential ticket? He got the ticket because Northern Governors must be commended because they want the peace and stability of Nigeria and they came up with the concept that power should shift to the South. If that concept was not proposed, probably Bola Tinubu wouldn’t have emerged.
He said whatever made the Governors which is basically based on principle of fairness to call for power to shift to the South, Kogi West ought to produce the next Governor of the State.
