A Director in Kogi State Civil Service, Mrs. Iyabode Bukola Ojo has emerged 40th President of Rotary Club of Lokoja District 9125 to to pilot the affairs of the Organisation in the next one year.
Speaking at her investiture attended by members, family, friends and staffers of top management of Kogi State Assembly Service Commission, Mrs. Ojo said her emergence is another call to serve God and humanity.
The new Rotary President, whomis the Director, Promotion, Discipline, Appeal and Secretariat in the State Assembly Service Commission, promised to justify the confidence reposed in her by working hard to move the Body forward.
According to her, there are four ways for a leader to succeed which include; listening, learning, adapting and acting.
She stated that 2023 has been a challenging year with the scarcity of cash earlier in the year and the subsidy removal which has caused hardship on the people.
The year 2023 has come with monumental changes. We are reminded that we live in a constantly changing world, and Rotary is a reflection of that world.
“We must be ready to listen, learn, adapt and act, always drawing upon our core values of service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leadership. If we live by these values and apply the 4-Way Test to all aspects of our lives, we will be prepared to lead at all times.
The immediate past President, Rotn. Alhassan Isah in his earlier remarks thanked members for the support extended to him, urging them to demonstrate same to the New President.
He said though scarcity of cash and subsidy removal affected the activities of the organisation, the Body was able to impart positively on the lives of the people.
Goodwill messages came from Okun Daughters Forum, South East Yagba Women Development Association among others, who expressed optimism in the ability of the new Rotary Club President to deliver on the mandate given her.
