As activities for the next Governorship elections in Kogi State draw closer, a group under the aegis of Ijumu-Oke Parapo in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State has declared its support for the reelection bid of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The Group which also throws its weight behind the second term in the office of Governor Ododo, affirming that there are no vacancy in Lugard House.
Fashagba Appoints Dr. Aminu Ibrahim as Acting Deputy Provost
This was part of the outcome of the meeting of the Group held at the country home of its Leader, Dr. Paul Femi Fashagba, Provost of Kogi State College of Education Ankpa.
Addressing the group, Dr. Fashagba noted that their focus currently is to mobilize eligible voters to register for the Continuous Voters Registration in a bid to improve the voting strength of Ijumu-Oke.
The Provost charged stakeholders at the meeting to support massive registration of people of voting age as it is their right to vote for people of their choice.
According to him, the decision to support the reelection bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo was in view of their outstanding performance since the assumption of office.
He explained that the President has through his thoughtful policies stabilised the nation’s economy as affirmed by the Director General of the World Trade Organisation as well as other reputable World economic bodies.
The Provost stated that the Students loan scheme has reduced the level of Tertiary school drop out, describing the move as laudable and a step in the right direction.
He noted that the NELFUND should be sustained, hence the need for students and parents to see the need to return President Tinubu to Aso Rock.
Dr. Fashagba while commenting on the achievements of Kogi State Governor, pointed out that his reelection is not negotiable as his track record has already campaigned for him.
He applauded the Governor for giving attention to workers and people Welfare, free WAEC, NECO and JAMB examination and as school fees, saying infrastructure has been giving priority.
The Provost said the Chief Servant has demonstrated to be up to the task of securing the people, with the fear achieved in protection of lives and property.
Other speakers at the meeting while expressing confidence in the Leader of the Group, Dr. Fashagba, assured of massive votes for the All Progressives Congress APC in 2027.
