A delegation of Okun people in Kwara State has paid a visit to the Managing Director of Lower Niger River Basin Development (LNRBDA) Authority, Ilorin, Engr. Olushola George Olumoroti.
The visit which was an initiative of the Group was to identify with him on his appointment and to show solidarity with the Managing Director.

Spokesperson of the group, Hon Dayo Akanmode, congratulated the MD on his appointment, describing it as a round peg in a round hole, judging by his track record, experience and exposure.
He expressed confidence in the ability of Engr. Olumoroti in justifying the trust reposed in him and prayed God to enable him finish well.
The Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, Oba Willams Olusegun Ayeni, who also commended Engineer Olumoroti for his love for Okun Nation, said he has known Engineer Olumoroti for long as a great community developer.
According to him, the visit was to congratulate the MD personally and to convey the felicitation of other traditional rulers in Okun.
The Ijumu Paramount Ruler used the visit to shower Royal blessings on the MD as he prayed for wisdom and good health to enable him succeed.

The delegation went into further discussion with the Managing Director on possible ways of intervention in the Agency.
The discussions include; the completion of the kampe projects, the Omi dam, to make it effective and address all other issues for which it was constructed.
Others are; the resuscitation of abandoned agricultural projects across Okun land, opening of rural roads and farm access roads, development of agro-schemes and employment and empowerment opportunities for Okun people.
In their respective remarks, other Speakers assured that the Group will give the MD adequate support as well as that of other communities.
Responding, Engr. Olumoroti said he was encouraged by the visit and promised not to let down Okun people, saying he has always been involved in community projects even before the appointment.
He further revealed how he cited a project he initiated in one of the communities in Yagba even when he was not in office.
He requested the Group to appreciate the member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency and Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Chief James Abiodun Faleke for facilitating his appointment.
The Managing Director promised to look into the requests of the Group by looking into them critically with the view of addressing them.
According to him, the Agency under him will focus on resuscitating Omi Dam which has been abandoned for long.
In the area of marginalization of Okun people in the scheme of things in the authority, he assured them of addressing the issue.
Engr. Olumoroti solicited for the support and prayers of the Group to enable him accomplish his good intentions.
