The Director General of the Kogi State Commodity Exchange, Export Promotion and Market Development Agency (KOSCEPA), Hon. Omofaiye Victor Adewale, has commended the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, for his responsible and people-centered approach to governance.
Hon. Omofaiye emphasized that since assuming office, the Chairman has made significant progress across key areas including education, human capital investment, and local security. He noted that these are not just routine responsibilities, but deliberate actions that reflect a high sense of responsibility and commitment to community development.
One of the Chairman’s bold decisions, the temporary closure of the Zango market to address rising concerns over insecurity, was particularly acknowledged. According to the KOSCEPA DG, this action, along with the recent issuance of an executive order to suspend mining activities within the local government, reflects a leadership style that prioritizes the safety and well-being of the people.
Hon. Omofaiye saluted Alhaji Haruna’s ability to take decisive steps in the face of challenges, describing his decision-making skills as a defining feature of effective leadership. He noted that in times when difficult choices must be made for the greater good, the Chairman has consistently shown readiness to act in the public interest.
The DG further appreciated the Chairman for always putting the people first and for staying focused on long-term community advancement rather than short-term gain. He encouraged him to remain committed and consistent in his service to the people of Ijumu Local Government Area, assuring that such leadership continues to inspire confidence in government at the grassroots level.
