Otafun Amuro Community in Kogi Celebrates Cultural Day in Grand Style

Otafun Amuro Community in Mopa/Amuro Local Government Area of Kogi has held its maiden Cultural tagged “Otafun Amuro Day 2022.”

 

The event also featured the Launching of Appeal Fund for the construction of Town Hall and Oba-in-Council Office, Mini Library and Civic Centre.

 

The Celebration, which is first of its kind attracted sons and daughters of the Community from all walks of life as well as friends and well wishers of the Community.

 

It also afford them the opportunity to raise fund for the development of various projects expected to have direct bearing on the lives of people of the Community.

 

Similarly, the beautiful culture and traditions of Otafun Amuro was at display with masquerades on ground to entertain guests at the occasion.

 

There are also of “Amokoko” (Making of Local Pot) which is one of the cultures that distinguishes the community from others in Okun land.

Speaking in his opening remarks, National President of Otafun Amuro Development Association, Elder Kayode Atteh said the event was put in place to galvanize support towards meeting the immediate needs of the Community.

ODA PRESIDENT Elder Kayode Atteh, alongside his the Vice president Lokoja Zone and Chairman Planning Committee, Pastor Obadofin Obadiah and two other Vice Presidents from Ibadan and Benin zones as well as the General secretary, Chaplain Abiodun Osho.

In his words “Sir, needless to mention that the development in our community has largely rested on the efforts of our community, government and generous donors like you who had been supporting us.”

 

“This time around, we are planning to construct a Community Town Hall, Oba in Council offices. Mini library and a Civic centre. The proceed from this fund raising programme will be used for the execution of the projects. We shall therefore be greatly honoured and happy to receive your kind and generous donation in cash or kind or the adaption of any of the proposed project of your choice.”

 

“We promised that your donation will be judiciously used to move our community forward. We are indeed very grateful that you are here. We hope you will enjoy yourself, especially with our rich cultural heritage and that you will return to your homes with pleasant recollections of what you have seen and done here.”
