He noted that it also reinforces alignment between the party’s internal structure and the broader governance vision of the country.

Idris said the APC has continued to demonstrate maturity and resilience in managing leadership transitions in an orderly manner, describing the upcoming convention as another test of the party’s democratic strength and organisational discipline.
He also emphasized that the gathering would provide an opportunity to showcase the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and further deepen the Renewed Hope Agenda within the party’s framework.
In his words, “We remain immensely grateful to our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR—not only for his indelible contributions to Nigeria’s democratic journey, but also for his pivotal role in the founding and growth of the APC.”
We recognise and salute his tireless work in fortifying our big tent, giving every party member a sense of belonging, steering the ship of state with visionary policies, and providing bold, democratic and progressive direction for Nigeria, Africa and the black race.
The Minister assured Nigerians and the international community that the convention would be conducted in line with high democratic standards, stressing that the APC remains committed to unity, inclusion, and purposeful leadership.
As the convention approaches, the APC reaffirms unity. Cohesion and collective responsibility are essential to the party’s growth and relevance. The APC is united in purpose, focused on strengthening its foundation and advancing its ideals for the nation.
“We assure Nigerians and the world that this convention and its proceedings will meet the high standards expected of a responsible and mature political institution; displaying discipline, organisation, and respect for democratic norms. This is the face of a party ready to lead and engage constructively, both at home and abroad. We are ready, he added.
According to him, the event will bring together over 8,000 delegates from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for policy discussions, leadership elections, and the emergence of new party executives.
The convention is expected to hold at the Eagle Square, Abuja from Friday, March 27 to Saturday, March 28, 2026 with party leaders expressing confidence in a peaceful and successful outcome.
