A new born baby has been stolen at the Okeyinmi Health Centre in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.

Daily Trust reports that an eyewitness said the baby disappearance was noticed when the nurses on duty wanted to cater for her in the morning on Monday.

The development has created fear within the hospital environment.

The members of staff in the ward, the mother of the baby, security guard and other suspects have been taken to the police station for further interrogation.

Some traders around the hospital were left dumbfounded on the incident.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, said four suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime and are “giving credible information that will aid the investigation process”

Abutu said the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joseph Eribo, has directed the state CID to conduct a through investigation and ensure the recovery of the baby.
