In a bid to address the infrastructural deficit in its schools, a Community Development Association known as Iyara Development Association (IDA) in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State has performed the foundation laying of an Administrative Block for Iyara Community High School.

The move is in line with the developmental strides of the present leadership of the Association to salvage the decadence of infrastructure in the education Sector of the Community.

Performing the ceremony, the National President of IDA, Alhaji Aliyu Badaki described the ceremony as remarkable and timely due to the dare state of the School.

According to Alhaji Aliyu, the Association intends to address the infrastructural challenges in all Schools but was restricted due to lack of adequate fund.

He stated that the Community can no longer fold its hands and watch the schools go into extinction as Government is now overwhelmed by the numerous challenges facing the State and Nigeria at large.

The President added that execution of the project was from funds garnered from the last Iyara Day Cultural Festival which focused on Educational development.

Alhaji Aliyu maintained that the Association will not ready to embark on white elephant project, hence the Administrative block, adding that as soon as funds are available, other projects will commence at the remaining schools.

The ceremony was attended by the pioneer Bishop of Ijumu Diocese, Dr. Ezekiel Ikupolati, Chief Imam of Iyara Alh. Quazeem Musa and some Executives of the Association.
