Bunu Students’ Union National President, Daniel Friday Aiyegboka says the motion moved by the Member Representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Arc. Salman Idris calling for establishment of Forward Operating Base and deployment of Security Agents to safeguard Bunu land is commendable and timely.
Daniel in a Public Commendation Message to Arc. Salman Idris applauded the swiftness in moving the motion on the floor on the green Chamber.
“As the President of the Bunu Students’ Union (BSU), I write to commend and express my sincere gratitude to *Hon. (Arc.) Salman Idris FNIA* for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the safety and well-being of our people in the face of the rising insecurity challenges in the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
I watched with great pride as he moved a motion of urgent public importance on the 6th of March, 2025, in the House of Representatives, urging the Federal Government to take swift action against the killings and kidnappings in Bunu District, especially in Odo-Ape Axis and Kiri Axis.
His bold approach in highlighting the plight of the people of Bunu Land at the National level has given voice to the voiceless and affirmed his dedication to the security and peace of our District.
Also, his direct engagement in the issue, where he accompanied Military personnel on the 8th of March, under 48 hours of moving the motion at the floor of the House, for an on-the-spot assessment of the affected areas in Bunu land, shows the magnitude of his genuine concern for our people and his hands-on approach to governance. He did not just raise the alarm but took the time to assess the situation firsthand, which demonstrates his true leadership and responsibility. I sincerely commend him for that.
As the President of the Bunu Students’ Union, I stand in full support of the initiatives he put forward in his motion calling for the establishment of a Forward Operating Base (FOB), the deployment of more Police and other Security personnel to Bunu land, and the provision of relief materials by NEMA for those affected by the insecurity our District. I believe that with his efforts complimenting that of the Kogi State Government, the lives of many will be saved, and the peace of our communities will be restored.
I appreciate his advocacy for the protection of the Bunu people and I humbly urge him to put in the necessary efforts needed with the relevant stakeholders to see that his motion and efforts yield peace and tranquility in Bunu land.
Once again, I thank him for his efforts in seeing to the peace of Bunu land and our entire Federal Constituency.
E-Signed.
