A Non Governmental Organization, Oaaseyi Foundation on Wednesday dolled out cash to best performing students in Mathematics, Science and Art Subjects in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The Students, numbering 66 where picked from the 22 secondary schools in the Local Government and were given exercise books to aid their learning process.
Also, Best Students in the 2022 SSCE West African Examination Council, (WAEC) Both male and female were given N100, 000 each to ease their University Education with a promise for more help.
While the Male category was christened, Olujumu Best WAEC Student while the Female was tagged Olu Gbede Best WAEC Student.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr. Richard Osaseyi said the gesture was divinely motivated and the best way of giving back to the society.
According to Mr. Osaseyi, his vision is to build mansion in the hearts of the young generation towards making them responsible Nigerians in the nearest future.
If a build a mansion for my children or family today, my children will leave the House one day and go to their own house. This scholarship is my own way of building the next next Doctors, Lawyers etc all from Ijumu Local Government.
He stated that the gesture was also a way of institutionalizing the legacies of his Late father, who until his death was known for his generosity and philanthropic disposition.
The Chairman charged the beneficiaries to justify the effort of the Foundation by working hard and come out with flying colours in their examination.
He payed glowing tribute to Teachers and School Administrators for their selfless sacrifice, assuring of his continued support to the body.
The Olujumu of Ijumu and Chairman, Ijumu Local Government Traditional Council, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni praised Mr. Osaseyi for his effort aimed at improving education in Ijumu Local Government as well as Okun land.
The Monarch charged other illustrious sons and daughters of Ijumu to emulate the Foundation in a bid to build the capacity of the youths to make them responsive and responsible in future.
In a presentation on Chosing a Career, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Omeiza of Federation of Female Lawyers, (FIDA) advised parents to avoid forcing courses on their children and wards.
“Let your strength guide you in choosing a career, ask yourself, what do you like doing most? What are your unique skills? What are the things i have that others don’t have? Don’t force any child to do what they don’t want to do and maximize your strength and opportunity”
Responding on behalf of the Students, Kehinde David Govt Special Science Secondary School Egbeda Ega expressed delight over the gesture and prayed God to Reward Mr.Osaseyi.
