The President of Sanity Multi-Efforts Forum (SMEF), Prince Dan Olaitain Dada has condemned in strong terms, the attack on Oro Ago in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Prince Dan in a statement while reacting to the attack urged Government and Security Agencies to stop giving Assurances and take the needed action to nip crimes and criminalities in the Area.
In his words “As a son of Oro Ago and President of Sanity Multi-Efforts Forum (SMEF), I’m compelled to speak out against the escalating insecurity in my hometown. The recent attack on Oke Daaba, leaving two dead and many displaced, is a stark reminder of the dangers we face.”
Oro Ago Kingdom has been plagued by a disturbing pattern of killings, kidnappings, and violent attacks. From Oyatedo to Omugo, our communities have been shaken by tragic incidents that have left families devastated and residents living in fear. Places of worship, once sanctuaries of peace, are now approached with uncertainty.
As a member of the royal family, I’ve seen the devastating impact of banditry and kidnappings on our community. SMEF has consistently advocated for government intervention, but the situation demands more. I implore the Kwara State government and federal authorities to deploy adequate security measures, establish a strong presence in Oro Ago, and work with local stakeholders to restore peace.
We need action, not just assurances. Our people deserve to live, farm, trade, worship, and travel without fear. It’s time to move from grief to coordinated action. I call for a High-Level Security Summit involving traditional rulers, community leaders, security agencies, and government representatives to address this crisis.
To the people of Oro Ago, I say: you are not alone. I feel your pain, and I share your concerns. Your safety and well-being remain paramount. We must stand together, support one another, and demand the action our people deserve.
Enough is enough. Our people deserve peace
