Council Chairman Declares Renewed War Against Crimes, Criminalities in Ijumu

The Executive Chairman, Ijumu Local Government Area, Alh. Haruna Ibrahim has declared a renewed war against crimes and criminalities in the Local Government.

 

To this end, the Chairman has led a vigilante group to Ayere, border Community between Kogi and Ondo States where he met with some Officers and Men of the Nigerian Army deployed to nip in the bud, rising cases of kidnapping in that axis.

 

Speaking shortly after the visit, the  Chairman praised the efforts of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his strong initiative to curb the menace of kidnapping along the expressway.

 

The effort of the Governor he noted  includes providing tools to enhance the capabilities of the local government security vigilantes in combating kidnapping incidents in the area.

 

He emphasized the need for information sharing and collaboration to completely eradicate kidnappers operating in the region.

The army personnel at the checkpoint expressed their appreciation for the Honourable Chairman’s efforts and pledged to work closely with Ijumu local hunters and vigilantes to ensure the safety and security of the highway.
