Suspension of Kogi Assembly Members: Ijumu Development Union Reacts to Suspension of Hon. Kilani, Calls for Amicable Resolution

The Ijumu Development Union (IDU), a socio- cultural Organization of Ijumu people of Kogi State has called for amicable resolution of the suspension of the member representing Ijumu Constituency, Hon. Olushola Kilani Olumo by the House of Assembly.

The Union in a statement issued after it’s  virtual meeting urged the leadership of All Progressives Congress to “explore the conflict and resolution mechanism of the party to resolve the issue peaceably and fairly too for the benefit of collective and effective development and political transformation in ijumu land.”

The statement reads”It is pertinent to add that IDU monitored the press statement issued by Ayere Community Development Association and other various comments /discussions made on social media in respect of Hon Olushola Kilani, member representing ijumu Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly.”

“The alleged wrongful allegation against Hon Olushola Kilani,though already in the public domain, prompted his counsel, O M Atoyebi SAN & Partner of Omaplex law firm to submit petition to some relevant government Agencies/ Organs and relevant Stakeholders for redress.”

“The IDU acknowledge and recognise that the current impasse within the party is an intra party issue.

It added that IDU will continue to advocate its cardinal objectives and will not shy away from standing and fighting for the rights of Ijumu citizens home and abroad.

Other issues discussed at the meeting include; General Security Situations, Challenges confronting Developments in the kingdom, various dispositions and unpalatable occurrences in ijumu among others and the way forward.
