We’ll Continue To Review Our Security Architecture To Safeguard Our People – Ijumu Caretaker Chairman

The Transition Caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna says his administration will continue to collaborate with security agencies to review the security architecture of the Local For for the safety of lives and Property.

 

Alh. Haruna stated this on Friday during a security meeting with Traditional Rulers and Youth Leaders across the wards in Local Government.

He noted that his administration will continue to work with traditional rulers in all the nooks and crannies of the local government to tackle insecurity, adding that his Government will do everything humanly possible to prioritize the lives of the people.

 

The caretaker Chairman, who reiterated the need for qualitative intelligence gathering, said there cannot be m security without intelligence gathering, pointing out that his Government would continue to improve security in the local government, as the economic growth being experienced in Ijumu can only be sustained if there is adequate security.

 

He said: “I have said before that security cannot work without intelligence gathering and we cannot gather intelligence without getting closer to the people. the royal fathers often get information before we do, and that is why it is important that we must collaborate with you.

 

The caretaker Chairman noted that the traditional rulers have demonstrated their support for the Government and have shown that the security of the local government is so paramount to them and must be maintained.

 

The caretaker Chairman however warned the youths in the Local Government Area not to engage themselves in any criminal Acts, saying the Government of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will not take it easy with anyone who engage in either robbery, kidnappings or drugs trafficking.

 

According to him, efforts are being made by the State Government to recruit more security personnel into Vigilante Service, promising that the recruitment will cut across all the community.

 

In his remark, the Olujumu of Ijumu Land, HRM. Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni, who spoke on behalf of the traditional rulers, appreciated the caretaker Chairman for taking the security of lives and property of Ijumu Local Government Area as priority, saying the Government, security agencies, youths and the traditional rulers must collaborate for the security of Ijumu government to be guaranteed.
