The Executive Secretary, Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Adekunle Aledare says the Agency is gradually expanding its coverage across the State.
Dr. Aledare in an Interview with Newsmen in Lokoja after defending the Agency’s 2023 Budget Estimate before the House Committee on Health.
The Executive Secretary stated that the Agency has made giant strides in ensuring that people of the State have access to equitable and quality health care service.
According to him, over 46,000 enrollees under the Bello Care, a pet project of Governor Yahaya Bello across the 21 Local Government Area have been engaged.
He noted that under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund, over 32, 000 people have been enrolled with 131 beneficiaries in each Political Ward of the State.
Dr. Aledare pointed out that in the Formal Sector, political appointees including their spouses and four children, adding that the Agency targets over 100,000 civil Servants together with their spouses and four biological children less than 18 years of Age next year.
He maintained that machinery has been put in motion to bring the informal sector such as individuals, traders, artisans, market women on board to expand our health Care coverage across the State.
