The Presidential Campaign Council of the People’s Democratic Party in Ijumu has made a strong statement of the strong presence of the party in the Local Government Area.
The campaign council, which embarked on a two day ward-to-ward sensitisation rally, took all by surprise, when stakeholders and electorates came out in their numbers to hail the party and its aspirants.
The crowd, which berated the ruling, All Progressive Congress for bad leadership and the untold hardship meted to the people, equally expressed nostalgia feeling for the years of PDP in power.
From ward to ward, songs pleading with God, to put an end to the current hardship being experienced by commoners rented the air.
The sensitisation rally was led by former two terms commissioner of Finance in Kogi State, Hon (Chief) Abiodun Ojo; Former Deputy Chief of Staff to the state government, who doubles as chairman of the PCC, Hon (Prince) Richard Akanmode; Former State Assembly members, Hon Adams Olorunmo and S.K. Adekunle.
Others are Chief S.O. Adeleye, Hon Paul Aiyenigba and many others.
In the sensitisation train also were candidates of the party for the various offices in this February elections.
They include Tajudeen Yusuf (Senate), Olaiya Olobatoke (Reps) and Tunde Olupeka (State Assembly).
