Why Yagba East Should Return Hon. Emmanuel Obaro to Consolidate Legislative Gains

Stakeholders in Yagba East Local Government Area are making the case for the return of Hon. Emmanuel Obaro to the Kogi State House of Assembly, arguing that continuity is needed to consolidate ongoing projects and legislative efforts.

Obaro, who currently represents Yagba East in the Assembly on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, has been credited by constituents and party leaders for pushing initiatives in education, rural infrastructure, youth empowerment, and healthcare access during his tenure.

Supporters say a second term would allow him to complete several capital projects already in motion, including classroom renovations in rural schools, grading of feeder roads, and facilitation of medical outreach programs.

They argue that legislative work often requires more than one term to move from appropriation to full implementation and oversight.

“Hon. Obaro has laid the groundwork. Changing representation now risks stalling projects that are halfway through,” said a community leader in Isanlu. “Consolidation is what Yagba East needs at this stage.”

Pro-Obaro groups also point to his role in facilitating state government interventions in the constituency and his engagement with local youth and women groups as reasons to retain him.

Critics, however, noted that the incumbent already possesses the requisite experience to make his re-election seamless, as his performance will ease his path in the upcoming APC primaries and general elections.

As political activities intensify ahead of the next cycle, the debate in Yagba East is shaping up around a central question: whether to prioritize continuity with Obaro’s representation.
