2023 Kogi NUJ PRESS WEEK: Olu Adde, Ajaokuta Reps Member, Four Others Bag Community Service Award

Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), says all is now set for the twenty twenty-three Press Week of the council.

Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Adeiza-Momohjimoh stated this in Lokoja at a press briefing to flag off the weeklong activities.

Alhaji Adeiza who said the press week is the last lap of such exercise of the current administration, noted that the exercise will commence with a Muslim prayer on Friday eleventh of this Month.

The NUJ Chairman noted that the Juma’at prayer will be followed with a Christian prayer on Sunday, the twelfth of this month.

According to him, Monday the fourteenth is set aside for road walk for members of the Union to keep fit.

The Chairman noted that the grand finale of the Week will hold on Wednesday, the sixteenth of August with a public presentation of a book titled: Media Development In Kogi State (1991-2023).

The book he stressed is essentially put together to give an overview account of how the media industry has fared in Kogi State since its creation.

According to Alhaji Adeiza, the three hundred and thirty four page book will be useful to Communications Students in tertiary institutions, Journalists, media researchers and the reading public.

He noted that notable individuals who have impacted positively on their various communities and people have been selected by the Council for the Union awards.

The awardees are: The Olu Ade of Ekinrin-Adde, His Royal Majesty, Olu Anthony Bamgbaiye and renowned Chartered Account, the member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem and a retired Director, State Security Services, Alhaji Ahmed Omeiza Abudullahi.

Others are: a renowned Broadcast Engineer and Chief executive officer of Jatto FM, Okene, Engineer Isezuo Edward Jatto,

Chief Executive Officer, Africa Youth Growth Foundation, Doctor Arome Salifu and Engineer Idah Daikwo of the Federal Ministry of Works, Abuja.

The State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is expected as the distinguished guest of honour, while the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Associate Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman is the Chairman of the occasion.

Chief Host of the programme is the National President of NUJ, Chief Chris Isiguzo while the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo is the co-host.

The NUJ Chairman enjoins friends of the media and the general public to attend the epoch making occasion.
