Today is doubly blessed as we celebrate not only my own birthday but also the birthday of a distinguished Leader and pillar of accountability in our dear state, Honourable Yakubu Adabenege (Fancy), the Auditor General for Local Governments, Kogi State.
Hon. Adabenege, your unwavering commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and due process at the grassroots level has been a cornerstone of the reformative strides in our local government system. Your work ethic and integrity are an inspiration to many of us in public service. On this special day of yours, I celebrate you heartily. May your day be filled with immense joy, laughter, and God’s finest blessings. May the new year of your life bring you continued good health, greater wisdom, and renewed strength to keep steering the ship of accountability to even greater heights. I wish you a magnificent birthday filled with joy and God’s abundant blessings.
On this shared special day, I am also reminded of the grace of God that made me FAWWASS Nigeria Ijumu LG Chapter Coordinator and now has also brought me to the position of Treasurer of Ijumu Local Government. It is a privilege to serve the good people of Ijumu and to contribute my quota to the development of our beloved Kogi State under an administration that truly values competence and dedication.
I would be remiss if I did not also use this occasion to celebrate and express my profound gratitude to an exceptional leader and my personal mentor, the indefatigable Accountant General of Kogi State, Dr. Hajia Habibat Oyiza Tijani Onumoko. Your exemplary leadership, both at the helm of our state’s treasury and as the leader of FAWWASS in Nigeria continues to light the path for many young women like myself. Your life is a testament to excellence, integrity, and the power of mentorship. Thank you for your guidance and for being a shining example of what is possible with dedication and purpose.
Our service and growth are made possible by the visionary and inclusive leadership of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. Governor Ododo has brilliantly emulated his predecessor and our great leader, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, by fostering a government that not only accommodates but actively encourages the growth and participation of all, regardless of gender or background.
Under Governor Ododo’s steady hand, the progressive legacy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to flourish. We are witnessing an unprecedented era of peace, consolidation of security architectures, and infrastructural development that is touching every corner of our state. His government’s focus on inclusive governance and youth/women empowerment is a clear testament to his commitment to building on the solid foundation laid before him.
As we mark our birthdays today, my prayer for myself, for Hon. Adabenege, and for our entire state is for continued wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for our Governor. May we all continue to work together under his leadership to elevate Kogi State to even greater heights.
