Foundation Celebrates 2025 Ona-Ara Day With Empowerment

A group known as Ona-Ara Humanitarian Foundation on Monday celebrated its 2025 Day in Ekinrin Adde, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State with empowerment for thousands of people.

 

The Foundation popularly known as Ona-Ara Movement Worldwide also carried out free Medical Outreach including free eye care with distribution of drugs and glasses.

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Movement, ESV. Olugbenga Collins Rotimi while speaking at the 4th Edition of the Day, said the Group is committed to making a positive impact, hence the sustenance of the annual programme.

 

“We operate with values of compassion, integrity, service, equity, and sustainability, and we are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.

Ona-Ara Humanitarian Foundation, under my leadership as the founder/CEO, is a nonprofit, community-based organisation committed to improving the lives of vulnerable and underserved populations, regardless of their background, religious, ethnic, and political affiliations.

 

“Our mission is to create thriving communities with equal access to well-being, and we strive to achieve this through impactful community development projects.

 

He noted that over the years, the foundation has been actively engaged in various initiatives such as medical outreaches, distribution of relief supports, supporting widows and orphans, and curbing social vices amongst our youth through inter-communities football tournaments.

 

“We will be distributing palliatives to everyone, providing business startup support to individuals, and launching our agriculture initiative with the commissioning of a farm land that we have secured.

 

Asked on the State of Security in the country, ESV Rotimi expressed confidence that Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State and President Bola Tinubu as well as Security Agencies will defeat crimes and criminals.

 

In his remarks, the Olu Adde of Ekinrin Adde, Olu Anthony Bamigbaye Idowu described the programme as eventful and an outstanding way of giving back to the society.

Olu Idowu applauded the Founder of the Foundation for sustaining the programme despite the dwindling economy.

 

Items distributed for empowerment are; sewing machines, grinding machines, bags of rice, semovita, cartoons of Noddles among others.
