The statement reads “while the State Chapter will not want to get involved in the saga that led to the impeachment of Amb. Sokubu and his consequent removal due to corruption, high handedness, misuse of power amongst other unethical practices.
“It is important to place on record that we at the State level acknowledged the contributions of the immediate past Governor and deemed it necessary to confer on him the Grand Commander of Youth, by the NYCN, Kogi State Chapter.
“The award was given by the NYCN Kogi State Chapter and not by the National Body. Also, for the purposes of record, it is important to State that the Acting National President of NYCN was at that time and period of the award the Vice President, North Central, had led a delegation of the National in solidarity with NYCN Kogi State Chapter to solidarise with Gov. Yahaya Bello on his outstanding performance as Governor of the State.
“We in the Kogi State Chapter therefore wish to dismiss the wrong narratives by the impeached President of NYCN and to ask the general public to disregard and dismiss the narratives of the impeached National President of NYCN.
